Originally published by the former Institute of Materials, now the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining Proceedings of a conference held in December 1995. While the majority of the developments in microalloyed steels have centred around controlled rolled steels containing additions of vanadium and/or niobium, the role of titanium additions has also attracted attention, in particular as precipitates based on titanium nitride, which confer grain refinement on austenite, especially in the heat-affected zone of welded structures. This volume offers an overview of recent research on the subject.
