PRESS RELEASE

24 May 2011

English Heritage Historical Review joins Maney Publishing

Maney Publishing and English Heritage are delighted to announce a new partnership. English Heritage Historical Review will be published by Maney from 2011.

English Heritage Historical Review is a rich source of historical research and interpretation. The journal focuses on discoveries from English Heritage properties, including landscapes, structures and their contents. Contributors to the journal include English Heritage historians, archaeologists and curators.

Maney will publish volumes 5 (2010) and 6 (2011) this year, after which the journal will revert to its usual one issue per year. It will be made available online for the first time via ingentaconnect, and subscriptions will include access to the online archive of the previous four volumes.

The journal’s Editor, Richard Hewlings (English Heritage, UK), commented: “In the four years since it first appeared, English Heritage Historical Review has put out a steady stream of new information and interpretation of English Heritage's properties and their contents, over a huge chronological range. English Heritage's partnership with Maney Publishing will help us to disseminate this information to a much wider readership, and will greatly benefit historians and archaeologists world-wide, particularly historians of the architecture, art and landscape which is so richly represented in our collection.”

Liz Rosindale, Humanities Publishing Manager at Maney, has been working with English Heritage on the agreement and welcomes the title: “It is fantastic to have forged a partnership with English Heritage to publish their prestigious journal. We are very excited about the development prospects offered by online access and the digital archive, which will make important content available to the research community. We are working closely with English Heritage for the smooth integration of the journal into our list.”

English Heritage Historical Review greatly enhances Maney’s list in the fields of heritage, conservation, history and archaeology, sitting alongside titles such as the Journal of the British Archaeological Association, Studies in Conservation, which will be published by Maney from mid-2011, and Vernacular Architecture.
