PRESS RELEASE
28th August 2007
Maney Publishing launches new online Archaeology and Heritage Collection for 2008
Maney Publishing has the largest single publisher's list of archaeology journals and is building on this specialism with the introduction of the MORE (Maney Online Research E-journals) Archaeology and Heritage Collection in 2008.
This E-journal collection will allow university and college archaeology departments, consultancies, architecture practices, heritage workers, and archaeological societies to access journal content online that is highly specific to their subject area.
Liz Rosindale, Managing Editor of Maney's archaeology titles, welcomes the new collection: “Maney has long been a leading publisher of archaeology titles and I believe the MORE Archaeology and Heritage Collection will showcase these online resources to the archaeology community. The collection is a key resource in the field and distinguishes Maney as a publisher devoted to promoting the widest dissemination of current research in the field of archaeology.”
With ten high-profile archaeology journals available online in 2007 and more joining in 2008, Maney continues to provide key research resources for the archaeology and architectural history community. The collection includes Medieval Archaeology, Journal of the British Archaeological Association, Environmental Archaeology and Vernacular Architecture, and the journals are available online to institutional subscribers via IngentaConnect.com.
Editors and societies who are interested in having their journals included in the new collection are invited to contact Maney Publishing.
In February this year Maney added two journals, Conservation and Management of Archaeological Sites and Public Archaeology to its range which, with the English Heritage Research Transactions book series, have further developed the conservation and heritage aspect of Maney's list.
Recent highlights in the archaeology titles have included a special issue of Post-Medieval Archaeology to mark the 400th anniversary of the first European settlement in Jamestown, USA.
