The Cartographic Journal (CAJ) announces its

Online Manuscript Submission, Tracking and

Peer Review System

Leeds, UK, 26 March 2008

We are pleased to announce the introduction of the Online Manuscript Submission, Tracking and Peer Review System forThe Cartographic Journal (CAJ). Contributors have the benefit of being able to upload papers direct to the journal by registering at the system homepage: http://caj.edmgr.com.

The system is designed to speed the processing of submissions by facilitating electronic refereeing and streamlining communication with the author and coordination throughout the publication process. Authors can check the progress of submissions online.

Full guidance on the submission procedure, including tutorials and instructions to authors, is available via links from http://caj.edmgr.com. A range of file formats is supported, but authors are advised to check the specific requirements before submitting, particularly regarding artwork presentation and quality. Please view the Notes for Contributors for further information.

Any queries can be directed to the Editor, Dr Ken Field (ken.field@kingston.ac.uk).

The Cartographic Journal (first published in 1964) is an established journal of record and comment containing authoritative articles and international papers on all aspects of cartography, the science and technology of presenting, communicating and analysing spatial relationships by means of maps and other geographical representations of the Earth's surface. This includes coverage of related technologies where appropriate, for example, remote sensing, geographical information systems (GIS), the internet and global positioning systems.

The Cartographic Journal is published by Maney on behalf of the British Cartographic Society. It is also an official journal of the International Cartographic Association.
