Maney Publishing to publish Levant and CBRL Bulletin in 2008
Maney Publishing is pleased to announce it is to publish Levant, the journal of the Council for British Research in the Levant (CBRL), and the CBRL Bulletin.
Levant is the international peer-reviewed journal of the Council for British Research in the Levant (CBRL), and is devoted to research covering the present-day countries of Jordan, Israel, the Palestinian Territories, Syria, Lebanon and Cyprus. While having a reputation for excellence in archaeology and history, Levant welcomes contributions from a wide variety of areas, including anthropology, geography, political studies, religion, sociology and tourism.
The Bulletin contains news on CBRL activities, feature articles, research reports from CBRL-funded and affiliated projects, and information on CBRL events and publications.
Levant will join Maney's list of archaeology titles and the Maney Online Research E-journal Archaeology and Heritage Collection in 2008.
The journal's Editor, Professor Graham Philip, of the Department of Archaeology, Durham University, UK, welcomes the new publishing partnership: “Given Maney's experience in archaeology publishing, Levant expects continued success and prominence in the field, and we look forward to widening the dissemination of Levant's research through online access.”
Maney's Publishing Director, Mark Simon, anticipates a successful partnership with the Council: “We are very pleased to be working with the CBRL on this key journal, which compliments our existing titles, and expands our representation of archaeological research in the Middle East.”
