PRESS RELEASE

Wednesday, 12th December 2007

Maney Publishing to publish Midland History in 2008

Maney Publishing is pleased to announce it is to publish the journal Midland History from 2008.

Midland History is the premier peer-reviewed academic journal for all aspects of the history of the Midland counties of England, from the early Middle Ages to the present day. Its research articles and book reviews examine local subjects within their wider contexts. Maney will increase the frequency to two issues per year and also make it available in an improved online version to institutional subscribers from 2008. For more information please visit www.maney.co.uk/journals/mdh

The journal's Editors are Dr Richard Cust (Department of Medieval and Modern History, University of Birmingham, UK) and Dr Stephen K. Roberts (History of Parliament Trust, London, UK). Dr Cust anticipates exciting developments for the journal: “We are very pleased that Midland History will be available with an improved online version as this will greatly widen the dissemination of research and papers to new readers. The journal is well-placed with Maney as a well-established publisher of humanities titles.”

Liz Rosindale, Managing Editor at Maney, is looking forward to working on the journal: “Midland History is a respected title in the field and we look forward to developing the journal and increasing usage through increased frequency of publication in both print and online formats from 2008. It is an excellent addition to our history list.”

Midland History compliments existing Maney journals such as Family & Community HistoryLabour History Review and Northern History.

The journal will join the MORE (Maney Online Research E-journal) History and Humanities Collection. To view the titles available in this collection visit www.ingentaconnect.com/content/collection/maney_history
